Kaash eisa title hota!!! then it would have definitely sucked big time. This new hindi movie is a must watch. Its got all the Devdas like settings, but only far better in every aspect including the key factor called 'acting'. If Madhuri was the saving grace in Devdas, then new actress Miss. Balan has done an excellent job in this movie. Its a very well made movie from the start to finish and should be watched in a big screen. You would clearly see how much Saif ali khan has matured as an actor over the years and even Sanjay Dutt has done justice to his small cameo. Overall its a good movie only to good to be missed. Ppl who read this blog could watch and come back and comment on it. I would greatly appreciate that!

I wouldn't praise this movie all that much. It sounded too much "devdas"i, in sense of style of clothing and all. I wasn't sure if girl-boy dynamics were allowed to be that liberal back in those times as what it is portrayed in the movie. But the movie was neat and lucid.
saw the movie yesterday. Was ok throughout expcept-
I dont understand this concept of the society being so liberal about the relationship. I agree with amrutha on- it is atleast too much to try and tell us that it was like that at the time depicted there.
And ofcource i cant stop laughing when i recall how saif tries to break a wall and all that when he can very nicely walk of the gate. Saves time !!! :)
I saw it yest. I would still say its good.
Umm.. last scene was quite funny. I totally agree. But i guess the message the director wanted to convey was to break the Wall of Misunderstanding or Lack of Communication. It was a symbolic scene perhaps.
As to Amrutha's comments about being liberal.. ur basic assumption here is that people of 60's in India were very conservative. To extend it I wouldnt see much of a difference between then and now. But the point is you are assuming that. Its just a movie with some place called Calcutta. He never showed a map saying it is The Calcutta of India located in the east right?? So my comments were mostly about the quality of the movie and the acting.. even the script they say is very different to the actual novel. good adapted screen play though... I rest my case here. yet to watch Sarkar... will watch it and post my review//
was good in the sense it made me cry like mad throughout except the end ofcourse! So i could agree with you in- "it was well taken". But, I would prefer not to watch such movies, Coz I hate to cry !
